Every Wednesday our blog will be about modesty and how to dress appropriately, yet still with style! You girls do a great job of that already, but this will be fun and might provide you with some choices you never considered before!
Read 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 (NLT)
Here's an outfit that says "Hey, I'm fun and stylish-but I care about how others view me!" :)
In your journal, write down what modesty means to you and if you think it's important or not. Be honest, and list the positives and negatives of dressing modestly.
To me, modesty means dressing and behaving with self-respect and consideration to my brothers in Christ. I feel it's important because rather I like it or not, people judge based on my clothing choices. I want someone to look at me and know that I am fun and am "with the times", but I also want them to know that I value myself. If I wear clothing that constantly has my breasts hanging out, or my butt exposed, I'm sending the wrong idea to everyone-and tempting the men in my life. When someone looks at me I want them to see that I am intelligent, caring, and passionate.
ReplyDeleteI just mentioned the positives, but I understand there are some negatives. Women who dress modestly are often laughed at and teased. And, sometimes, it can be difficult to find clothes that are in style and modest.
Hopefully, what to wear wednesday will help with our creativity and inspire some fun, stylish outfits that make God proud of what we're wearing! :)
